Our treatment center is the collective vision of physicians, teachers, healers, therapists, and visionaries throughout the ages who understood that treating the whole person is the key to long-term health. Great healers as ancient as Hippocrates himself, have long taught that as we address the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional aspects of our being, we achieve balance. Puakanti was founded with that principle in mind. In the dialect of the Southern Pauite that roamed the desert southwest, the word for spiritual power is “pua”. The shaman, or in common terms, medicine man, is Puakanti…literally characterized as one who has the ability to heal.
